The strongest venom crippling the muscles of the Haitian people is not the unbearable scarcity that leaves both young and old helpless and hopeless. It is rather the belief that they are alone in this big universe and that nobody else from any where cares. The church partnership program lets our Haitian brothers and sisters know there are Christians who care. Through shared faith we can provide them with friends and love from all over the world.

The GVCM Church Partnership Program allows a church in the United States to establish a close relationship with a Haitian church, or help to plant a church in an area in Haiti where there is need.

GVCM's focus is the rural areas of Haiti where the people are marginalized and have access to nothing. That is also where voodoo activities are the most prevalent. Although extremely limited with resources, poor pastors leading the front end of the fight for Christ in Haiti are determined to keep planting the banner of salvation on the top of the hills and the middle of the valleys.

Through partnership, there is great joy as both churches lift up the name of Christ together. Love and care are reciprocally extended to each other. People transcend natural differences as they develop a strong sense of belonging. Old churches bloom and new churches are planted.

Why a Partnership Program?

In Matthew 28:18-20 Christ commanded us to make disciples of all nations. This is a collective duty imparted to all Christians. At the turn of the 21st century, people still walk away from the truth. Together we have been commissioned with the power to make sure the message of the kingdom reaches those searching hearts.

Millions of Haitians live in the shadows of the evil of the voodoo religion. The majority of Haitian people are on their way to eternal damnation. But in spite of this tragedy, God has shown us that His plan of salvation is also working in the lives of many Haitians believers. In Haiti, Christians work hard to promote their Savior. But their resources are so few, they can do better with a boost. A little help from you can go a long way and even perform miracles.

In three years, GVCM has developed a network of over 30 churches.
At the present time only seven churches have sponsors.

How Church Partnership Works

Your partnership with a sister church in Haiti can provide spiritual guidance and counsel to contribute towards effective management of the resources the Lord has given. The willingness, determination, and energy to engage in a new spiritual experience with the Lord is there in the Haitian pastors and congregations. They only need a spark that we hope you would be willing to be.

Your partnership with a sister church in Haiti puts food and supplies for ministry in the hands of the local pastor. Your financial or physical gifts show Haitians the love of Christ in action.

GVCM monitors and guides cooperation between sister churches. Our Field Director and Executive Director stay in regular contact with the pastors of the Haitian churches, and know the needs and problem areas.

Your church can be personally involved. You will be able to send teams and personally meet and minister alongside fellow believers in Haiti. The skills of your congregation can be used in many areas, ranging from construction to medical help to teaching/training. However, visiting and fellowship with your brothers and sisters in Haiti is the greatest gift you can ever give to a church in Haiti.

Visiting your sister church will also be a life changing experience, as those who have gone to Haiti can testify. In addition, your partnership with a sister church in Haiti will encourage both churches as you see God answering prayers.

We even encourage young people to come and do VBS for Haitian children or to participate in many other special projects. Many teens/young adults from the States have done it and most express the willingness to do it again.

What Can the Haitian Church Provide?

Our brothers and sisters in Haiti may have nothing material to offer you, but they really know how to pray. The Haitian Christians experience miracles every day. How do you explain the fact that a widow with no job, no income, no nothing manages to take care of 6 children every day? People exposed to such a situation experience the insurmountable power of faith and can surely apply it in their daily prayer on behalf of their Christian brothers and sisters in the states. You send them a list of people and matters to pray for, and they will bring it to the Lord, till they get an answer from the Lord.

How Can I Get Involved?

We understand you already have many financial responsibilities and commitments. GVCM allows you the discretion in choosing the dimension in which you want to share your blessings with your Christian brothers and sisters in Haiti so they will be better equipped to keep winning the lost for Christ. Needs are different from church to church, depending on location, and existing structures. We would encourage you to consider the case of the preacher of the respective church, the teachers of the school, and maybe some other expenses.

Our goal is to sufficiently supply for the church, the preacher and the school, but a minimum of $50 a month goes a long way.
