Fedja Orphanage Update - Click Here

The orphans in Fedja, who had been planning to move into a new building this Spring, may have to continue living in their current mud-floored shack (see image) for the forseeable future, as the funds to complete the construction are not available.

GVCM was blessed this year with a new partnership with Five Oaks Community Church, when members decided to build a new home for the orphans to replace the one-room sheet-metal building that serves as their bedroom, their school and their church. Despite the truly enormous generosity of the people of Five Oaks, it recently became clear that there will not be sufficient funds to finish it.

What's worse, the only way to scale back the project to fit within budget is to eliminate the roof, leaving it unusable as a home, so the orphans must remain where they are now.

We Need Your Help Now!

It is discouraging to consider not finishing this project and leaving the orphans in their deplorable living conditions ... especially when you consider how close we came. There is currently a shortfall of only $30,000 for this first project phase which required donations of materials, machinery and construction support from Five Oaks, the U.N. and the local Haitian community.
