Fonfrede Christian Church

Fonfrede Christian Church is located approximately 10 kilometers from Les Cayes. The congregation has existed since 1984, when there were about 40 people in attendance including children. We used to gather in a small tent packed up like sardines. After 10 long years of service, there was not much progress. The founding preacher abandoned the congregation and the flock was disbanded.

God granted to us a new beginning when Moscow Christian Church came on the scene in 2000. We are so grateful and appreciative for the partnership of our brothers and sisters of the Moscow Christian Church family. They sent over a building team for a short term mission trip in January of 2002. They worked hard side by side together with our Haitian workers to help us transform the existing situation. After fourteen days of hard work days and nights, the church building was finally erected to the satisfaction of all.

From 40 in attendance, the church rapidly grew to 150 people. Including the school children, we have approximately 250 in attendance on a given Sunday. Since then, God continues to manifest His power in Fonfrede in a marvelous way: The blind receive sight, the lame walk, the lepers are cured, the deaf hear, the dead are raised and the good news is preached to the poor. Many who once lived in the darkness of despair and hopelessness now find a reason to live. They discover the secret of a spirit filled life. They are now walking in the wonderful light of our Lord.
