Ravines-Palmes

Ravines-Palmes

There are around 3000 people living in this Savanette area, and most of them practice voodoo. The majority of people there are farmers or salesmen, they produce corn, beans, bananas, coffee and more. This small church building is covered in tin roofing. Construction of a school and purchase of land for the church are needed.

History of Churches in the Savanette Area

The Savanette area has a population of about 2000, most of whom do small trades or grow coffee, bananas and beans. There are approximately 80 members attending the church. We started a bible study in Ballarona, in the Dominican Republic, on April 3, 1994. From that cluster of people, the Dominican congregation grew to 104. This date has been adopted as our anniversary. We always invite all the churches and pastors to come and celebrate with us. From that little seed, seven more churches were born in different areas of the district:

1. Mare-Crabe with Pastor Ilorire Flouril
2. Dos-Parc with Pastor Berlinot Louissant
3. LaGourme with Pastor Dagenord Fabien
4. Bois-Pin-Gonne with Pastor Wilson Orelien
5. Dos-Baptiste with Pastor Merinord Naurescat
6. Ravines-Palmes with Pastor Thesalus Silvain
7. La-Haye with Pastor Celin Riche
8. Savanette bourg with Pastor Celin Riche

We have one little school in our church in Roche-Grann, and another school in La-Haye. This is not a good situation, since we have no infrastructure to promote a quality work for the Lord in those places. We use what we have, but it is a constant fight. We bought several properties and we have re-roofed different churches with tin roofing. We have a lot of preachers, elders, evangelists, and groups (adult, young people) throughout all the churches that have the enthusiasm to preach the word to the unsaved. We need just a bit of spiritual and financial encouragements to create a solid base for this ministry. We praise the Lord for being faithful to us, and He will be faithful to whoever helps this ministry move forward. We hold services twice weekly in our churches. On Tuesday and Friday we have prayer meeting and bible study, and regular services Sunday morning and evening.

Objectives:

We would like to grow spiritually through Bible study and in communion with the Lord. We hope to send someone from each church a music school to study music so that they can come back and train young people in their respective churches. We also hope to send some of the dedicated young people to Bible College so that can come back to start new churches.
